"The developer job is dead, switch to Replit"
"The developer job is dead, switch to Replit" 🤯 A sentence I recently heard during a discussion about a web project revamp. Some context: I'm working on revamping a website with a performance and SEO goal. While I expected to debate architecture or SEO, I was told, dead serious: "You're overcomplicating things. The dev job is over. Delete everything and rebuild it with Replit and AI." I thought it was a joke. I'm seriously being told to replace an optimized, secure, proprietary SSR architecture… with an AI-generated cloud prototyping environment? It's like asking an architect to tear down a brick house to rebuild it in Lego "because it's faster". AI is a fantastic tool, Replit is great for prototyping. But confusing "generating code" with "building an architecture" is proof that we need developers who understand what they're doing more than ever. The "old world" of code still has good days ahead. 🚀
